December 27 - Depart USA (Air quotes forthcoming)
December 28 - Arrive Tel Aviv; After a short drive overnight in Netanya December 29 - Travel to Nazareth/Galilee via Cesarea, visit ancient cities including Meggido or Har Meggedon). Learn about civilizations who have lived in this land over the Millenia. December 30 - Tour Galilee and Boat Ride on Sea of Galilee, visit ancient home of Mary Magdalene and take part in a baptism in the Jordan River. December 31 - Travel to the Dead Sea via Beit Shean, a beautifully preserved Roman City. Along the way we'll talk about the prophetess Deborah and end the day with a chance for a sunset, New Year's Eve float in the Dead Sea. |
January 1 - Take a late morning and start the year right with a trip to Bethlehem and Jerusalem. On the way we'll see the archaeologically important Qumran Caves and Masada. January 2 - Our first full day in Jerusalem will include walking many of the places Jesus walked and taught, including the Mt of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane, St. Stephen’s Gate, Pools of Bethesda, Suq Market, Via Dolorosa, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Western Wall Tunnels, Western Wall, and more January 3 - The second full day in Jerusalem includes many more holy sites like the Temple Mount, City of David new excavations, Gihon Spring, Hezekiah’s Tunnel and Siloam Pool, Ophel Garden and Davidson Center at Southern Wall Archeological Park, Bethany, Garden Tomb January 4 - We'll have a late start this morning to rest a bit. After checking out from our hotel, we'll visit the Israeli museum, Shrine of the Book and Model of city, take a somber walk through the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, Ein Kerem traditional John the Baptist birthplace, and have a farewell dinner before leaving for the airport. We'll take an evening flight out of Tel Aviv. January 5 - Arrive USA |
